The park was founded in 1928-1932 as Kamarouski Park and was renamed in 1934 In honor of the crew of the SS Chelyuskin.
The park was part of the Wankowicz family estate and was called the Wankowicz Forest.
This park is adjacent to the
Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
American (Russian) Roller Coaster or Super-8
This Attraction is called either American Roller Coaster by Russians or Russian Roller Coaster by Americans.
The local name was "Super-8".
This attraction was extensively rebuilt in 2009.
The Belarusian writer Frantsishak Alyakhnovich in his book "In the claws of the GPU" claims that the Kamarouski Forest (future Park Čaliuskincaŭ was the regular executions place of the prisoners from Minsk NKVD prison.
