GAZ-AA, based on a 1929 agreement with the Ford Motor Company, it was a licensed and heavily adapted Soviet version of the Ford Model AA, nicknamed "polutorka" (meaning "one-and-a-halfer"), was a famous Soviet 1.5-tonne cargo truck produced from 1932 to 1938 (with simplified variants continuing into the 1940s). Built primarily at the Gorky Auto Plant (GAZ), with nearly one million total units eventually manufactured.
