размещалась подпольная
типография, где печатась
газета "Звязда" - орган минского
подпольного горкома КП/б/Б.

Сейчас это - улица Кульман, рядом Комаровский рынок

Red light is useful for covert movement, because such light is less noticeable to potential foreign observers: security guards, casual passers-by and also to preserve the "night vision", it does not overexpose the retina during night operations, does not "kill" the vision, it takes less time for adaption in the darkness while red illumination.
